#AbToHasNEWS Films to be submitted to CBFC in digital format will be certified in 3 days Owing to the constant increase in piracy, the Central Board of Film Certification was recently under the scanner as the films submitted to the board for certification were leaked online. In order to fight piracy, it was recently announced that the films will be submitted in digital format for certification. However, post the decision, some filmmakers objected to the same considering that it was an expensive solution because of which the CBFC has now decided to curb the costs of other processes. Vijay Galani, member of IFTPC (Governing Council of Indian Film Television Producers' Association), recently revealed the three primary changes suggested to I&B Ministry by CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani which have been approved recently. This includes the demand draft of Rs. 20,000 which was to be paid to Cine Workers Welfare Fund by all producers has been done away with it, also the cost of submitting the film which ranged from Rs. 30,000 to 50,000 has been reduced to bare minimum. Besides that, even the fee of the theatres which screen these films for certification, that is, Sunny Super Sound, NFDC and Famous Studios has been fixed at Rs. 8000 maximum. Apart from focusing on the cost, the CBFC has also confirmed that they will follow a strict process of providing the certificate for a film within three days. Confirming that they did the same for the forthcoming release, Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Freaky Ali, Galani explained the process in detail, stating that the first day will be the submission, the second day would be the screening and the third, that is the final day, the certificate will be issued. He also believes that this process started by the CBFC is fool-proof and will definitely prove fruitful in battling piracy. #movies #theatre #video
