The film has released all over India except Punjab as the government of Punjab has banned it. On Thursday, a spokesperson for the Punjab government released an official statement announcing the ban of the film stating that the decision was taken due to prevailing strong resentment among the Valmiki community about some objectionable references to Maharishi Valmiki. The film's suspension was aimed to keep peace and social harmony in the state as the film may have caused protests. The government has suspended the film with immediate effect for two months and during this time it will be considered as an uncertified film in Punjab.
